How to photograph your gear

Here at GearUp, we want your items to sell. And nothing helps a listing sell like great photos. Here are a few tips:

GearUp allows up to 15 images per listing, so make sure to photograph the item from every side for full transparency which leaves plenty of room to include shots of every part of the item.

Using a consistent background helps to establish your brand. Using a neutral or blank background is a safe choice. A solid color wall or sheet works. Since you’re aiming for consistency, make sure the background is something you’ll have access to every time you want to list something.

Natural daylight is typically the best substitute for a professional studio setup.

Shoot by a window on a sunny day to get good, natural key light. Use your skills to create a nice image. This is what you do!!

Many of our users have DSLRs and mirrorless cameras which can help take their listing photos to the next level. If you have the gear, we recommend using it to help make your listing pop.
