GearUp uses Stripe to process all credit cards. All card numbers are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Decryption keys are stored on separate machines. None of Stripe’s internal servers and daemons are able to obtain plaintext card numbers; instead, they can just request that cards be sent to a service provider on a static whitelist. Stripe’s infrastructure for storing, decrypting, and transmitting card numbers runs in separate hosting infrastructure, and doesn’t share any credentials with Stripe’s primary services (API, website, etc.).
If you are trying to get in contact with the seller of your purchase, you can do that directly via the GearUp app and our messaging system.
You will want to first head to My Profile > Purchases. Locate the specific order and tap the three dots in the right-hand corner. Now click on the Message Seller button. After you select that, it will allow you to type in a direct message to the seller and even send photos to them.
If at any point you wish to keep the communication going or any further questions come up, you can head to the button in the top right corner of the My Profile page!
